Fact or Fiction?

What should you believe? The TV reports? Ads? Promises of a new diet?
Warnings? These tips will help you become a more discriminate consumer
of nutrition information.
1.
Who is the source? Reliability comes from reputable sources (e.g.
university...)
2.
Is there a promise of a "Quick Fix"? True science does not operate
this way...
3.
Is there a product being sold? Discriminate between the pitch and the
facts...
4.
Is the claim from testimonials or evidence? If the evidence backs up
the testimonials, there is more reliability.
5.
Is the study based on the results of one study or several? The larger
the population of the research, the more times the study has been
replicated, the more solid the evidence.
6.
Is the study conducted on animals? Remember, they can give us a clue,
but not direct impact on humans.
